Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter - Pinkini
This is the lipstick file on the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter lipstick in Pinkini.
General Description
Physicians Formula is not a brand that is readily available in the UK, mores the pity. You can get it from some websites but it's essentially a (very nice) budget American brand and is sold in drugstores and supermarkets (and places like Walmart etc). I've only had eye and cheek make up from PF before, never a lipstick so this is my first.
It's a very creamy, highly pigmented lip balm, (or butter as it's marketed). I read reviews very carefully before I bought this and it was definitely a case of people being on one side of the fence or the other! Some people loved it, others really didn't like it. There didn't seem to be an in-between so I was interested to try it. I'm usually either positive or just a bit 'meh' about lipsticks, with this one there are definitely some good points but also some bad ones.
So, here are my pros and cons.
Pros
Colour is beautiful - pigmented but not overpowering, very pretty.
It's SPF 15 so good for sunny days and holidays and times when you're out and you want more than a plain lip balm. Also great for winter lips and cold weather.
It feels really moisturising for your lips without being sticky. It does feel like a butter but isn't greasy, I don't know how they did that!
It's a great price.
Cons
The packaging. Oh dear it's so annoying. The lipstick doesn't wind right down into the tube so when you slide the lid over it it makes the lid (which is clear) quite messy, not to mention the fact that it's a waste of lipstick when it's all over the lid and not on your lips! Of course, it could just be a fault with mechanism in my individual lipstick, they might not all be like that
A couple of times I have noticed that this has bled into the little lines round my lips but not every time (I might have put too much on?)

Photo of lipstick with lid on (you can see that it sits proud of the top of the tube) and on me. I look really fed up in this photo, it was taken after a morning of home-schooling!
